How to Get Rid of Gas Now

If you have a problem with flatulence or burping then you do not have to be told how embarrassing and annoying it can be. Of course, it is possible to have gas issues that do not manifest itself in terms of burping or flatulence but can manifest themself in terms of other painful conditions such as gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD) and even esophageal cancer.

But for now let us focus on gas issues as they relate to burping and flatulence. For now let us take a look at how to get rid of gas now.

1. Lactose intolerance is one of the leading causes for gaseousness. A significant portion of the population actually is lactose intolerant. Most people who are in fact intolerant are not aware of it and go on for many years not knowing why they have or know how to get rid of gas. The good news is, for those who are indeed lactose intolerant all one has to do is cut out the dairy in your diet. Of course, this is easier said than done as the normal American diet is based on an extraordinary amount of dairy intake. For those sufferers, there is more good news and that is that nowadays there are all kinds of great alternatives that actually taste good and do not contain lactose. For example, you can buy Egg Beaters instead of regular eggs. You can drink soy milk instead of cow milk. You can buy Smart Balance instead of butter and the list goes on.

2. A high green diet often leads to gaseousness. One of the main culprits of this problem is found in broccoli. For reasons that we will not go into here (boring chemical reaction type stuff), you may want to avoid the amount of broccoli that you eat at a given sitting. The problem is that broccoli is such an important vegetable because of its antioxidant properties so it is better to not avoid it if possible. One quick solution could be to take an over-the-counter medication that helps with gas relief.

3. A high fiber diet also affects many people that suffer from gaseousness. If you are looking at how to get rid of gas and eat a large diet made up of fiber then you should seriously consider either decreasing or doing away with as much fiber as possible. I would also suggest that you strongly consider the recommendations made in point number two.

There are a number of reasons why an individual struggles with issues related to gas but thankfully there are a large number of over-the-counter medications that can assist with this problem. Unfortunately, many of the foods that bring on this problem are also some of the best foods for you as far as maintaining overall health. If you have an ongoing problem with gas then you may want to consult a Medical Doctor in order to get a proper diagnosis and suggestions for the future.
